JAGGO RECORDS LAUNCHES NATIONAL MARKETING CAMPAIGN FOR OUTERSTAR
As part of an extensive marketing plan for OUTERSTAR, the radio campaign began August 27th for the album and it’s first single, “You Love It When It Rains”. In the first week of the campaign, radio promotion efforts yielded CMJ’s #6 most added album. On September 25th, OUTERSTAR’s single was tied for #1 most added song on the FMQB charts. The single is also featured on Movie Tunes through December, being exposed to over 85 million listeners per month in 15,000 theatres, and getting over 5 million spins per month. To date, the song is the #5 most requested on Movie Tunes.
Another key aspect to OUTERSTAR’s marketing plan is an intensive Internet promotion campaign, spearheaded by The Hype Council (Jennifer Lopez, Papa Roach, Vertical Horizon and Cranberries). The campaign intends to build a buzz by electronic messaging as well as implementation of Hype Council’s proprietary “I-squad” software – used to build and manage an on-line “street team” and give incentives to fans who actively promote the band. This promoting includes calls and e-mails to request OUTERSTAR at radio stations and video outlets.
Other aspects of the marketing plan include radio contest giveaways, inclusion on the CMJ convention sampler CD, as well as consumer advertising. Retail includes participation in EMD’s Ignition program, listening stations, plans for in-store performances/appearances, and inclusion on an EMI retail sampler CD for distribution to all major retail outlets. The band will also be working with key on-line retailers, radio stations websites, and music sites to secure download visibility in connection with OUTERSTAR’s website. Touring plans are in the works.
